Fruity Treats*

6 Jul

With the amount of s’mores I ate over the holiday weekend, I never want to look at chocolate & marshmallows again. Okay, lets be real, I’ll be toasting those little guys over our backyard fire pit by next week … but for now, keep the chocolate, graham crackers AWAY!

To balance out my sugar consumption and to enjoy the flavors of summer, I concocted a fruit salsa served with cinnamon sugar chips. It’s so refreshing and fills even the sweetest tooth’s dessert fix.

-mandarin oranges
-3 tortilla shells
-2 tablespoons of cinnamon & sugar
-butter spray

*These are the fruits I had on hand, feel free to use whatever you’d like!

-Dice fruit in bite size pieces, add a dash of sugar, and mix together in a large bowl
-Chill fruit for about 10 minutes
-While fruit is chilling, coat one side of each flour tortilla with butter spray. Cut into wedges and arrange in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Sprinkle wedges with desired amount of cinnamon sugar. Spray again with cooking spray.
-Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes
-Serve chips with chilled fruit

It’s a perfect dessert to serve to my friends & family who stop by during the week! You can even serve with graham crackers and if your stomach doesn’t hate you for your bad chocolate choices this weekend like mine does, try drizzling nutella on the chips right before serving. Divine!

I took gorgeous pictures earlier today ( & I was super proud of them!) of this delicious dessert, but boyfriend accidently forgot to return the memory card into the camera after uploading pictures for me, so my pictures didn’t save :(. If my family didn’t already devour the fruit salsa, I’d retake my pictures … guess I’ll just have to make it again ;) Although pictureless, I had to share this recipe!
