I’m Nude for Nude Day

14 Jul

tank – $ 74, Steven Alan // vest – $ 25, H&M // skirt – $55, Banana Republic // boots – $71, Dorthy Perkins // purse – $172, Reiss // necklace – $14.50, forever21 // ring – $9.99, Modcloth // sunglasses – $235, Lina Farrow

In spirits of National Nude Day (go ahead, Google it I’m not making this up!) I find it only appropriate to share my love for nude. Yes, I’m referring to the color … not being nude … although with this heat, I’d almost prefer the latter of the two … kidding :).

To many, the color nude immediately conjures up images of something your grandma would wear. It’s time to banish those images and welcome nude with open arms. Although not typically a color associated with summer, nude is the color of summer for me. Since nude is a neutral, you have the option of pairing it with other neutrals as well as vibrant colors and always look ravishing. Accessorizing with vibrant colors allow nude based outfits to pop and look more lively. Pair nude with other neutrals to look timeless & classic.

dress – $44. Dorthy Perkins // purse – $1595, Proenza Schouler // heels – $125, Pour la Victoire // bangles – $8, Forever21

Adding more nude pieces into your wardrobe shouldn’t be difficult, because the color can be seen in all fashion pieces. It can be found on dresses, skirts, footwear, bags … you name it, it comes in nude.

blazer – $1323, net-a-porter // dress – $2295, Alberta Ferretti // heels – $175, Yves Saint Laurent // clutch $2195, Alexander McQueen // ring – $12, forever21

How do you wear nude without looking nude? If you find yourself looking washed out when wearing a nude blouse, simply adding a dash of a color you know you look great in can help … thank goodness chunky necklaces and big earrings! Nude looks radiant against tanned skin –and helps with the washed out dilema– which is why nude is my summer it color. Trying to elongate your legs in your shorts & skirts this summer? Choose a shoe in a shade of nude that best compliments your legs natural coloring and wallah! long, lean looking legs!

Why not go nude today?
