Thumb Print Jammies*

If anything screams Christmas in my family, it’s these buttery, jam filled cookies. My grandma was feeling a little under the weather this weekend, and if you know her then you know she’s constantly looking for something sweet to munch on. To help boost her spirits, and spread a little Christmas cheer, I baked a batch of these beauties. Ya’ll need to try these cookies. Talk about melt in your mouth deliciousness!

Ingredients
-1 cup butter, softened
-2/3 cup sugar
-1/2 teaspoon almond extract
-2 cups all purpose flour
-1/2 cup raspberry jam

Directions
-Combine butter, sugar and extract in mixer bowl and beat until creamy. Set the mixer on low and add the flour until well mixed.

-Heat oven to 350 degrees. Shape dough into 1 inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Make an indentation in the center of each cookie and fill it with a small dollop of jam.

-Bake for 14 – 18 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned. Remove pan from oven and let cookies stand on cookie sheet for one minute. Remove from sheet and cool completely.

There is something to be said about the flavor and texture of these cookies. They are amaze-balls good! They could possibly be up there as my favorite holiday cookie (oh, and dont’t forget these favorites).

    Those look so yummy! :) My mom and grandparents make those every year for Christmas and I love them :)

    I was going to ask if it would be a sin to fill these with chocolate instead, then I scrolled down and saw that you posted a similar cookie filled with chocolate :) Nice pics!
