Feeling a bit Minty Fresh

25 Feb

Until recently, I haven’t given the cringe-worthy 80s bathroom tile color a chance … but now I’m obsessed. I went shopping over the weekend and am now 100% diggin’ this minty hue. I ended up with an array of mint pieces…Mint tops, dresses, shorts … oh my.

Not only is it a universally flattering color, there’s no other color (at least in my Pantone color palette) that soothes quite like mint green. It always looks so fresh, comfortable and feminine. The calming shade is a beautiful mix between blue and green and gives off a light, airy vibe. I’m a big fan of pairing mint with a neutral to add a pop of color. The whimsical color gives a refreshing twist to your look.

Be Gone Winter Blues!

28 Feb

Since Mother Nature is a little confused and has given us some unseasonably warm weather all Winter, I’ve given up all hopes of Winter and think I’m finally ready for Spring. More importantly, I’m ready for all of the color!! I went shopping over the weekend and found myself gravitating to everything neon and vibrant. After a gray winter, a bit of color is definitely refreshing. Be gone dreary winter blues! Add some personality to your wardrobe by adding a few neon pieces. Check out how you can rock neon without looking like Gaga (although she is pretty fab!)

Keeps things subtle by pairing neon with black and white. Classic!

Create an edgy look by pairing neon with leather and studs.

My favorite look? Coupling neon with a neutral.

This one is for all my color lovers.

Lacquered Up For Fall

19 Sep

Are We There Yet? // I Eat Mainely Lobster // My Address is “Hollywood” // Color to Diner For // Honk if You Love OPI // Road House Blues // Suzi Takes the Wheel // French Quarter for Your Thoughts // Uh-oh Roll Down the Window // A-taupe the Space Needle // Get in the Expresso Lane // I Brake for Manicures

Every weekend, I spend an hour as “me” time and go to the salon for a manicure. If you suffer from the “getting bored with a nail polish quickly” syndrome like I do, than you understand my obsession with nail polish. Like Fall clothing & flavors, Fall nail polish colors are slowly making it’s way into the season. Nail polish is a statement of it’s own and is just as critical to an ensemble as the shoes on your feet. Within the last year, I’ve stepped out of my standard pink nail polish (hot pink for Spring/Summer, mauve for Fall/Winter … how boring!) habits and have really expanded my lacquer color palette. Lately, I find myself gravitating towards neutral, earthy tones. And what perfect timing, because this Fall you’ll see plenty of greens & browns! This Fall ditch the bright shades of Summer and have your fingers glisten with jewel-toned shades that venture into murky hues.

Carry On // Very Structured // Case Study // Glamour Purse // Lady Like // Power Clutch

With these rich & creamy hues at your finger tips, there’s no doubt you’ll fabulous this Fall.

What are my favorites? Why I’m glad you asked! I’m currently swooning over OPI’s French Quarter for Your Thoughts & Essie’s Glamour Purse! What are some of your favorite Fall shades?

Am I the only one that gets a kick out of OPI’s titles?! They’re so fun & witty that you just have to chuckle after reading them!

Wrap Up This Summer*

16 Aug

Maybe it’s the cooler weather that we’ve been having lately, but I’ve been in full blown scarf mode. Scarves in the summer!? Am I crazy!? Now, I know it’s still summer, but that’s what makes scarves so fabulous … with the different fabrics they’re made out of, you can wear them year around. For summer, I lean more towards brightly colored and patterned scarves. These light weight fashionable pieces add a splash of personality and sass up any outfit. For an easy, breezy summer look, leave the jewels behind this summer, because a pretty patterned scarf will draw attention to your face just like a glamorous necklace would. The best part? This chic accessory can help ward off the chill of the air conditioner (especially if you work in my building, it’s an ice box!,)

1 – $195, Rag&Bone // 2 – $10.90, Akira // 3 – $7.80, Forever21 // 4 – $18, Monsoon // 5 – $10, Bank Fashion // 6 -$290, Joseph M.

Don’t be tied up this summer trying to figure out what to accessorize with. Scarves are the answer!
